Ma'ruf ibn Kharrabudh al-Makki said: I heard Abu al-Tufayl 'Amir ibn Wathila al-Kinani say: I heard Ali (AS) say: "The Night of Qadr comes in every year, and in it there descends upon the successors after the Messenger of God (PBUH) whatever descends." He was asked: "And who are the successors, O Commander of the Faithful?" He said: "I and eleven from my loins; they are the Imams, the muhaddathun (those addressed by the angels)." (Muqtadab al-Athar, vol. 1, p. 29)
The Commander of the Faithful (AS) said: Every year, on the Night of Qadr, matters are sent down upon the successors of the Messenger of God (PBUH)! They asked: Who are the successors? He said: I and eleven of my descendants, who are Imams and muhaddath.
